Both Kite Alti and LED String Alti’s standard firmware has 11 modes. After switching on the altimeter at ground level and waiting several seconds for the altimeter to flash 1 red LED, indicating Mode 1, hold down the button to change the altimeter to the desired mode. The number of red LEDs you see when you hold down the button indicates the current mode. Mode 11 is for data logging only (no lights) and is indicated by a single green LED. Be sure to take a look at the kite altimeter games we have compiled if you have more than one altimeter.
Pulses, changing color in 25-foot increments. Sparkles the colors of the American flag at 150 feet and above.
Flashes, changing color in 25-foot increments. Flashes get shorter in length as the next color threshold is approached. Sparkles the colors of the American flag at 150 feet and above the altimeter.
Pulses gradually in reverse, from red at 0 feet, through the entire color wheel to red again at 150 feet. At 150 feet and above the altimeter sparkles the colors of the American flag.
Sparkles, changing color in 20-foot increments; sparkle intensifies as next color threshold is approached. Sparkles and pulses white at and above 100 feet.
Pulses, changing color in 20-foot increments. Color becomes paler as the next color threshold is approached. Sparkles and pulses white at and above 100 feet.
Blends gradually in reverse, from red at 0 feet, through the entire color wheel back to red at 100 feet. 1 LED lights up every 100/n feet, starting with 1 LED at 0 feet, so that at 100-(100/n) feet, all LEDs are illuminated. Lit LEDs rotate around during flight. Sparkles and pulses white at and above 100 feet. (n = number of LEDs on string)
Pulses, changing color in 50-foot increments. Multicolor strobe at 300 feet and above.
Flashes, changing color in 100-foot increments. Flashes get shorter in length as the next color threshold is approached. Flashes white at and above 500 feet.
Sparkles, changing color in 200-foot increments. Sparkle intensifies as the next color threshold is approached. White strobe at and above 1000 feet.
Emits a white flash pattern indicating the altitude of the altimeter. Each flash in the pattern indicates 10 feet (e.g. 5 flashes would indicate 50 feet and below 10 feet there is no light). There is a gap of 2 seconds between each flash pattern.
Turns the LEDs off but still logs up to 85 minutes 20 seconds of data. Use this mode during the day or when the longest possible battery life is desired.
