1.1 Eronotix Logbook Description

Eronotix Logbook is a cloud-based flight logging system designed for use with Eronotix products with a realtime database at it's backend. In addition to logging flights and viewing and downloading data, Eronotix Logbook has some basic social media capabilities. One can add Followed Users, which enables them to view one's own logbook and data. One can also add unlimited YouTube or Facebook videos as well as Instagram pictures or videos to any entry in the logbook. Eronotix Logbook is a mobile-friendly and can be viewed on any browser.

2.1 Creating an Account and Subscribing

Go to Eronotix Logbook. An e-mail is required to sign up for Eronotix Logbook; after establishing a password you will be required to send a verification e-mail by button press and then verify the account (go to your e-mail after pressing the Send Verification button). Upon verifying the account you can log in. Once you log in you will be prompted to activate your subscription in the Eronotix Store. When purchasing a subscription, make sure to use the same e-mail address associated with your Eronotix Logbook account to make the purchase. All Eronotix altimeters currently come with a one year free subscription service in the form of a discount code printed on a card included with the altimeter. Afterwards, use of the logbook costs $20 annually. To use the free one year subscription, enter the discount code you received with the altimeter at the end of checkout. Once the purchase is made, go back to Eronotix Logbook and log back in. If you still have trouble logging in after making a purchase (e.g. you perhaps used the wrong e-mail for the purchase), contact Eronotix at support@eronotix.com and we will get your account up and running ASAP.

2.2 Editing the User Profile

A good first thing to do is to edit the user profile and privacy settings. This page shows the information and avatar others will be able to see in order to find or contact you. Here you can add an avatar, change your name or e-mail address, and you can optionally add a phone number. Use a rectangular JPEG image smaller than 4 MB for the avatar. Users cannot search for other users by e-mail or phone number, rather only by first and last name. They can, however, view these according to the privacy settings seen the "Preferences" page if you allow them to follow you. On this page, you can also view how many users you follow and how many follow you, as well as the status of your subscription to Eronotix Logbook.

2.3 Preferences and Privacy Settings

Under Preferences you can adjust your privacy settings, choose which activities you wish to log, or reset your password. If you click on "Reset Password," and e-mail will automatically be sent with instructions to reset your password. You can also delete your profile at the bottom, which is not a reversible operation.

2.4 Adding Associates

Eronotix Logbook allows one to search for other users and add them as Followed Users. Once a user accepts a Follower request, the Follower can then view that user's logbook and data. To search for a user, simply enter their first and last name exactly as it appears in Eronotix Logbook and hover over their avatar to add. Followed Users and Followers can all be viewed or removed by hovering over their avatar in the lists on the right side of the page.

3.1 Setting up Various Activities for Logging

Since our devices cannot know about every aspect of your flight, there are certain pieces of information that have to be provided by the user. For kiting, one should first input Kites and Locations under Administration before logging flights, as seen in the video below. You can also delete elements from each of these categories provided they have not yet been used in your logbook. For rocketry, one should input rockets (locations are shared among all activities). After inputting this information, one can set the "Current Settings" for these various activities under Administration. Then any flight logged will be logged according to these Current Settings. One can always change the information afterwards in the individual flight entries, but Current Settings makes things easier for logging multiple flights at a time.

3.2 Uploading Flights

Follow the steps shown in the instructional video below to upload flights to the logbook: 1) turn the device (Kite Alti, LED String Alti, Rocket Alti etc.) off; 2) open Chrome or Edge browser (do not enter an address); 3) plug the altimeter into the computer with a data cable (must be a data cable, many cables are charging-only); 4) click on the link that pops up; 5) go the Upload section and press the Download from Device button and wait several seconds (press again if it did not work, and it may be necessary to first press the connect button); 6) after the list appears, delete any flights you do not want entered into the log; 7) press the Upload to Database button.

3.3 Deleting and Renumbering Flights

Under Administration, you can delete flights, but this is an irreversible operation and it will also erase all media links associated with the deleted flights. At the bottom under Administration, it is possible to renumber flights consecutively in order to eliminate gaps (e.g. jumps numbered 1,2,4,5,9 as a result of deletions are renumbered 1,2,3,4,5 using this button).

4.1 Renaming Equipment and Locations

Equipment such as kites and rockets and locations can be renamed under Administration, in the same place where they can be entered or deleted (provided they have not been used). Make certain to enter exactly the name of the current equipment or location (capitalization included) in order to make the change.

5.1 Viewing Flights

Click on the Entries heading at the top to view flights. On the left side, one can use the filter to adjust the number of entries displayed per page and whether they are displayed in ascending or descending order. Click on an entry to view graphs and associated data and media.

5.2 Editing Flights

All information on a flight can be edited after it is created. Simply click on a particular entry, and then click the edit icon at the top next to the flight number. This will show the user all of the possibilities of what type of information can be included in a flight. Once finished editing, press the checkmark button in the same location.

5.3 Adding Media

One can add YouTube and Facebook videos as well as Instagram pictures or reels to individual entries. To include a YouTube or Facebook video, simply click on the edit icon next to Media, then copy the address of the video into the text box and press Add. For Instagram, go on your browser to your Instagram account, find the picture(s) or reel you want to share and click on Embed. Then simply copy the code and paste it into the text box and press Add.

5.4 Exporting Data as CSV

For each entry, one can download the data viewable in the graphs as a CSV file for custom processing in other programs. Simply click on the Go button next to Export Data to CSV after selecting the parameters you want to export in the checkboxes (Altitude, Speed, Temperature). No time data is exported, so refer to the sample rate of the individual products for reference (Rocket Alti 32 Hz, Kite Alti and LED String Alti 0.2 Hz).

6.1 Statistics

Click on Statistics to view statistics on your flights. Statistics are updated on the 1st and 16th of every month due to the way Google Firestore databases work.

7.1 Devices Interfacing With Eronotix Logbook

Currently, three products can interface with Eronotix Logbook: Kite Alti, LED String Alti and Rocket Alti.
