delta altimeter kite
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are the LEDs on Delta Altimeter Kite visible during the day?
A: No, they are not. These kites are primarily meant to be flown in low-light conditions, from sunset to sunrise. They do, however, log data
for use any time of day. Mode 11 of the standard firmware turns the lights off but continues logging.
Q: I crashed my Delta Altimeter Kite, can I buy just a replacement kite without the electronics?
A: Absolutely, just go to the Eronotix Store.
Q: Can I use rechargeable batteries in the altimeter?
A: Yes, LED String Alti works with rechargeable batteries with the only caveat being that the LEDs will be just slightly dimmer.
Q: How much battery life does this kite get?
A: The battery life of LED String Alti (the altimeter in the kite) depends on which settings are being used and how it is flown. Generally speaking,
several hours of flight should be possible when using good fresh batteries. For example, you can get around eight hours of battery life using Mode 1 with the batteries that come
with the altimeter. Rechargeable batteries can be used, but the LEDs will be slightly dimmer.
Q: Is this kite waterproof?
A: No they are not, and water can damage the onboard electronics. Flying in water should be avoided.
Q: How high can the altimeter measure altitude?
A: Delta Altimeter Kite can measure altitude with full accuracy up to 30,000 feet, which would break the current record for
the highest flight of any kite in history.
